What is Chronicle Armoury?
Chronicle Armoury was developed in partnership between the Home Office Scientific Development Branch and an operational police firearms unit. It manages and audits all firearms issues and returns, weapon maintenance records and ammunition stock and can control access to weapons and armouries based on an officer’s competence. Currently used in over 70 armouries which house thousands of weapons between them, the system deals with over 30,000 weapon transactions a day.

How does it work?
Chronicle armoury uses proven RFID technology to uniquely identify both officers and weapons. The RFID tags vary in size and shape according to customer need.

Turnkey solution
When linked to the Chronicle Firearms module, the system provides a complete end to end solution in the control and management of access to weapons and armouries based on the officers’ authority held in the Firearms module.

Winner of a European Tender (T1203/09) Chronicle armoury provides forces with a streamlined route to procurement with no requirement to incur any tendering costs as it is already on a European purchasing framework.
