UPDATE FROM JML SOFTWARE

Welcome to the latest news update from the Chronicle team. We have been very busy with the continued production of C4 and are looking forward to its next release. Please feel free to pass this newsletter on to your colleagues should you feel it may be of interest to them. As always, if you have any questions, please contact us at enquiries@jmlsoftware.co.uk or on +44 (0) 330 223 3258.

USER GROUP EVENT / CHRONICLE NATIONAL USER GROUP

We would like to express our appreciation to those who attended our latest Chronicle User Group Event in January 2024. We have had some great feedback from you and want to extend our thanks to everyone who took the time to attend.

The Chronicle National User Group, (online forum), had overwhelming support and the initial meeting was successful. The finalised list of members for the User Group is being collated. We are currently working through resolving security issues to allow us to enable you to access our sandbox area, so that you can be "hands on" with the next release of Chronicle. In the meantime, please contact David Hopkins if you would like to arrange a demo of either the existing or next release:

OPTIMISATION CHECKS

We are now excited to introduce Chronicle Optimisation Checks! These checks are designed to ensure that you are getting the most out of your Chronicle system and are available for all Chronicle Modules. Forces will be able to inform us of any areas of concern, or questions that they have ahead of time, which will then enable us to focus our checks on your specific needs.

Optimisation checks will also involve a dip sampling of modular set ups and records for any obvious improvement requirements. They will take place over half a day, and be charged at £400 +VAT per module. All checks will be followed up by an emailed copy of any recommendations provided.

Training requirements cannot be delivered during Optimisation Checks due to the limited time frame, but if further training is required, or extra modules purchased as a result of an Optimisation Check, we can offer a £400 discount on any quotes provided.

PUBLIC ORDER MODULE

We attended the recent POPS conference at the College of Policing and met a number of forces that have invested in the Public Order module but are not making best use of its functionality. If you believe your force could get more from Chronicle, we would strongly recommend that you contact us to discuss how we can help you make the best use of this module.  If your force does not currently have the Public Order module, please let us know if this might be of interest as it will undoubtably help you to demonstrate licence and training compliance within this area of policing.

END OF FRAMEWORK OFFER

The current PDS Framework for Systems to Manage Specialist Police Competencies and Assets comes to an end on 30th November 2024. Although this does not affect any current Chronicle contracts with your force, any new purchases of Chronicle modules after that date will be through the replacement Framework. Given the inflationary pressures we have seen over the term of the current framework, we expect to implement price increases in the new framework.

With this in mind, we are keen to encourage you to secure the current pricing for any modules you are considering for your force through a phased implementation offer.

This phased implementation offer allows you to lock in current pricing for modules which are not brought into use until as late as March 2025 and take advantage of multi-module discounts.

Please contact our Business Development Manager, Roy Lynk, for more information.

LUIS PONTE’S RETIREMENT

After 21 years at the helm of JML, Luis has decided it’s time to retire! As the visionary behind Chronicle, he will be massively missed by all of us at JML and customers alike. We would like to wish Luis all the best in his retirement, and thank him once again for making our working lives so enjoyable…. Now put your feet up and enjoy that Prosecco, Luis!

Luis is with us until 24th April so if you would like to contact him before then, please do so: luis.ponte@jmlsoftware.co.uk

As you may already be aware, JML Software Solutions Ltd has recently been bought by the Polaris Software Group previously known as Click Bidco Limited. This change in ownership will have no impact on Chronicle or our dealings with our customers and, aside from Luis’ retirement, there is no planned change to the Chronicle team so please continue to contact us in the usual way.

NEW JOINERS

Joel Suthakaran – Technical Support Specialist

We are pleased to welcome Joel to the JML team as our new Technical Support Specialist. Joel will be joining Nigel and Ross in the Technical Services Team, manning the Support Desk, and is looking forward to assisting with your enquiries.
